When the sun peeks out onto our city, best known for constant rain (and coffee), the citizens take advantage. We done our wide brim hats with the funny neck flaps, and go out to bathe in his gloriously blinding warmth.
This particular park that we visited surrounds a lake with it's quadrupedal, bipedal, bicycle, inline skate, Bob stroller friendly 2.8-mile trail. One particular two and a half year old boy was so invigorated by the sun - or maybe it was his lunch of fish n' chips - that he took to the trail on his own two feet (bipedal, two feet... duh!).
He picked flowers for his mommy along the way...
Then he ran...
He wanted to catch a duck, but Auntie Netty told him "those ducks are boring! They're black and white. You want to catch the mallards. They're green, and brown, and white!" And the little boy believed her.
Then he ran some more...
He ran the entire 2.8 miles with such glee that his little sister got so tired just from looking at him! The sun was out, but the wind was crisp. And the little girl had so much fun watching her big brother that her frozen little hands didn't bother her at all.
A two and a half year old boy ran 2.8 miles.
An infant fell asleep wearing a smile, despite her frozen hands.
Can you?
Live?
Laugh?
